The King Coconut
Photo Series 10
I was writing a food blurb about King coconuts from Sri Lanka, a variety endemic to the island. It was a hot day, and nothing quenches your thirst like fresh coconut water.
As the vendor cracked open the coconut, I clicked the photograph, more by chance than design. This was a microsecond that was beautifully captured. I did not know I had this photograph until later in the day, while scrolling through the day’s work.
Life is fleeting, sometimes just a second long. As a rookie photographer, I try to capture the magical second; it is an art. For me, it is purely by chance.
About the Photo Series:
A picture is worth a thousand words, or so the adage goes. But sometimes the context makes the photograph better.
This is a series of photographs I have taken over the years, travelling wherever my whims would take me. They are simple pictures, taken with an iPhone mainly, and barely edited. These are moments in time, images that capture an instant that passes us by in a flash. Most are taken by chance, and some are composed but still surprising.
My goal, through these images, is to show my readers what a beautiful world we live in. There is chaos around; a world may be spinning out of control. I want to highlight that there will always be beauty and goodness in humans.
Thank you for reading and subscribing.

What a great capture!
